Kurukshetra is the historic and religiously significant town in Haryana. The town has been named after the ancestor of the Kauravas and the Pandavas, King Kuru. Legend has it that the battle of Mahabharata was fought here and it was here where Lord Krishna had preached the Bhagvad Gita to the warrior prince Arjun. Remnants of a fort which is said to be that of Abhimanyu are a few kilometers away in a village called Amin.
