About Mahe

Mahe

Formerly a French colony, Mahé, which now comes under the Mahé district of the Union Territory of Puducherry, which is on the east coast, is surrounded by Kannur and Calicut District of Kerala. Also known as Mayyazhi, Maheis famous for the St. Teresa's Church, which brings in people from Singapore, Sri Lanka and England every year during the annual festival. Tourism is the main source of income for the people living here.

A panchayat town in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, Ankola is a small coastal town.
