Mahesana is the municipality of the district by the same name in Gujarat. The city was initially part of the Bombay state after independence but was integrated into Gujarat once Maharashtra and Gujarat were separated. Mahesana is inhabited with 2,027,727 people and boasts 84.26% literacy rate, which is higher than the national mean.
