Mapusa is the most happening town located in the northern area of Goa. It is situated just 13 km way from the state capital city, Panaji. It is also the Bardez Taluka’s headquarter. Located on the main highway NH-17, it links Kochi to Mumbai. The town’s name is spelled as ‘Mapuçá’ in the Portuguese and ‘Mapsa’, ‘Mhapsa’ or ‘Mapuca’ in the local languages.
