About Mothara


Mothara is a small village in the Naliya Taluka of Gujarat. The cities nearest to Mothara are Bhuj (41 km) and Jamnagar (117 km). Mothara is part of the Kutch district in Gujarat. Mothara is situated on the banks of the river Kankavati, and has a largely Hindu and Jain population.

There are few places of tourist attraction in and around Mothara. The Berachia Resorvoir Lake (5 km) and the Kankavati Reservoir Lake (5km) are major picnic spots. Shimla Farm (18 km) is a fine example of its agrarian economy. Centuries old Jain temples in Naliya (44km) are worth visiting.

The nearest airport to Mothara is in Jamnagar at a distance of about 117 km from the town.

Mothara does not have a railway station of its own, but nearby Bhuj connects it to all major places in Gujarat and India.
