Guhagar

Guhagar is in the Ratnagiri District of Maharashtra. It belongs to the Konkan region located 65 km from Ratnagiri. Guhagar means a “cave” in the local language. The economy of the town exploded due to the Dabhol Power Company in the early 1990s. It is well-known for temples, beaches, betel nuts and Alphonso mangoes - the king of fruits. Mahad, Mahabaleshwar, Ratnagiri and Chiplun are the nearby cities.
