About Nadiad

Nadiad

Nadiad is a small city forming a part of the Kheda district in Gujarat. Its neighbours are Anand (18 km) and Kheda (22 km). It is also called Natapadra or Natpur (City of Natas). The number 9 is of historical significance in Nadiad, as there are 9 routes into the city, 9 lakes and step wells around it and 9 villages near it. Mahatma Gandhi started his Satyagraha movement from Kheda, while staying at the alms house in Nadiad.

Badhir Garden and the School for the Deaf and Mute are two places worth visiting. Santram Mandir, a 700 year old temple that is still served by a living Saint, and the Mahakali Mataji Mandir- approximately 255 years old, at the entrance to the city,  are a must visit.

Rail:
Nadiad has its own railway station that connects it to the rest of Gujarat through the Western Railways.
