About Nanjangud

Nanjangud

The town of Nanjangud lies on the bank of river Kapila. It is located about 25 km away from its district headquarters, Mysore. A pilgrim hub of the Hindus, its Srikanteshwara Shiva Temple attracts a huge number of devotees to its premises throughout the year. Nanjangud is also renowned for the Nanjanagoodu Rasabale, a type of banana grown in the town.

Dindigul railway station is aptly positioned in the rail head between Chennai to Madurai and from Karur to Madurai.  The railway line is connected to Palani.  All express trains from Chennai pass through Madurai and Dindigul.
