Perched lies at an elevation of 423 meters above sea-level. It is both a town and a municipality in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan. The town was named after Parbatshah Zawar, who has been credited for building this township in the year 1536. Parbatshah Zawar was in one of the top positions in the Mughal Darbar.
