Porbandar is a small coastal town in Gujarat. It is the administrative headquarters of the Porbandar District. It is well known as it is the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. It is an ancient port city, with a port that is still functional. Evidence suggests that it was a Harappan settlement in the 1600s. It now serves as a tourist centre, with beautiful beaches and interesting places to visit.

The Porbandar Airport is a small terminal building. It has a daily flight to Mumbai. Mumbai is the closest international airport.
The Porbandar Railway Station has daily trains to Rajkot, Okha, Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
Porbandar Bus Stand is in the centre of the town and has daily direct buses to Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Mumbai. RSRTC buses are a reliable option for road travel.
