A financial town in Andhra Pradesh, Palakol is an important commercial centre in the West Godavari district. The town is a major trading centre for the surrounding regions. Palakol, which is a part of National Highway 214, is located closed to Bhimavaram, Eluru, Tanuku and Narsapur. The town is surrounded by paddy fields and coconut groves. Palakol is also well-known in the surrounding region for its good number of educational institutions.
