Sankarankovil

Sankarankovil is said to be the most beautiful temple towns of the Tirunelveli district. This district which has an old city charm is famous for its huge historical significance since some of the temples in this place are more than 1000 years old. Sankarankovil is situated 56 kms away from the Tirunelveli District and 40 kms east of western Ghats hill. The town is also called by other names such as SNKL and Sangai. There a two temples of Shiva and Parvathi. It is believed twice a year sunrays do fall on the plinth.
