A city and taluk in Dhule district of Nashik Division in Maharashtra, Shirpur is located on National Highway 3, which connects it to Mumbai. The city, which is located 50kms from Dhule, has two rivers, River Arunavati and River Tapi, flowing through it. Agriculture is the main source of income in this city. Shirpur is famous for its gold refinery, which is incidentally is the largest in Asia and the fist refinery in India.
