About Satara

Satara

A city located in the Satara District of Maharashtra, Satara is located near the confluence of the river Krishna and its tributary river Venna. Believed to have been established in the 16thcentury, Satarais one of the historical cities in Maharashtra. The name of the city was derived from the seven hills surrounding it. Satara is well known for its sweet,kandipedhe. The city has a unique statue of Shivaji standing near a canon at Powai Naka, which is distinctive since most statues ofShivaji depict him riding on a horse. Nayabazar is the name of an area in Cuttack city in the Eastern Indian state of Odisha. This area comes properly within Cuttack city’s limits. The area lies in between Mahanadi and Biluakhai rivers.
