Anbinnagaram is a small village in the coastal Tamil Nadu district of Tuticorin. It is not very far off (25 minute drive) from the Bay of Bengal coast. The entire village professes the Christian faith. The village was established by Rev. CTE Rhenius as a refuge for new Christian converts who were fleeing persecution in the 18th century. Several other satellite Christian villages were also established in the area.
