Sempatti is a small historical village in Aruppukottai of Virudhunagar district in Tamil Nadu. This village has been recorded in history as the place where Muhammed Yousuf Khan, a peasant turned military commander who was also the ruler of Madurai and Thirunelveli, was hanged by the Nawab of Arcot. Virudhunagar is 26 km and its capital, Chennai is 504 km away from Sempatti. Its nearby cities are Sattur, Virudhunagar, Aruppukkottai, and Pallapatti.
