About Shivpuri


The summer capital of the Scindia rulers of Gwalior, Shivpuri is a city in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Located on NH-3, Shivpuri is 98 km away from Guna and 113 km away from Gwalior. Shivpuri district is surrounded by hill tops covered with forests and vegetation which makes the landscape very pleasing. As per Census 2001, the total population of Shivpuri was 316859 where Males constituted 53% and Females 47%. The average literacy rate has been 66%. Shivpuri is well connected by road, rail and air.
