About Supa


Supa is a dam built across the river Kali in Karnataka. A concrete gravity dam with 101 m in height and 332 m in length it is just 2 km away from Ganeshgudi. The dam not only helps in generating and providing electrical power to various parts of Karnataka, it also happens to be a good travel destination. Supa Dam’s close proximity to wildlife sanctuaries and temples makes it a good reason for tourists to come and visit this place. 

Places to Stay
Supa is a small town and hence does not have many hotels options. Local home stays are good options.

The official language of Supa is Kannada. The alternate languages used are Konkani and English.

Deepavali in October and Pongal during January 14-15 are the two most important festivals celebrated in Supa.

There are plenty of tourist attractions near Supa especially in Ganeshgudi (2 km). Some of the places include Supa Dam, Sri Mallikarjuna Temple, Anshi National Park, Dandelappa Temple, Kulgi Nature Camp, and the Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary.

How to Get There


The nearest airport to Supa is the Dabolim Airport in Goa which is just a three hour drive from Ganeshgudi. 


There is no rail connectivity to Supa. However, one can reach the Karwar Railway Station (108 km) via buses to catch a train.
