Tarikere is a village in the Chikkamangaluru district of Karnataka. Tarikere gets its name from the number of lakes that surround it (‘kere’ means ‘lake.’) Doddakere, Kenddarahalla, Dalavikere and Ramanayakankere are some of the lakes that surround it. The city is located 49 km north of the district headquarters of Chikkamagaluru and 244 km from Bangalore.
