Sivagiri

Sivagiri in Kerala is a renowned pilgrimage hub situated about 3 km away from Varkala. The Sivagiri Mutt, atop the Sivagiri Hill, draws a huge number of pilgrims throughout the year, especially during the ashram’s annual festival celebrated in December-January. The ashram was set up by sage Sri Narayana Guru in 1904. As it is very close to Varkala, which is popular for its beaches, it attracts several tourists from near and far.
