About Tirupattur

Tirupattur

A town located in Vellore District, Tamil Nadu, Tirupattur is also known as the "Sandal City". Approximately 1600 years old Tirupathur is one of the oldest tows and an important commertial centres of the state. The town has temples built during the Hoysala Dyanasty and is also a famous Islamic pilgrim centre as many great saints like  ‘Awliyas’ are buried here. Surrounding by hills with sandalwood trees, Tirupattur is very close to Yelagiri hills, the 4th major hill station of Tamil Nadu.
