A major town in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, Tuni is well known for the export of mangoes. Nearly 250 varieties of mangoes are grown here. Also famous for betel leaves cultivation, cashew nuts and jute bags, Tuni is located close to Kummari Lova, a village that is known the ‘Panchasheela Buddhist Centre’ as five Buddhist ‘stupas’ were found here during recent archaeological excavations. The famous and one of the oldest sugar factories in the state, Tandava sugars is located in Tuni.
