Taranagar

Taranagar is a city in the Churu district of Rajasthan. It falls in the division of Bikaner and is situated 48 km to the of the district headquarters of Churu. Earlier, Taranagar was known as Reni, it was named after a lady called Rinkali who came to Taranagar from Vishalnagar Koyalapatan. But in 1948, the city was renamed after the King Tara Singh, who was the ruler in the mid-18th famous for the plaster of paris industry that has been established there.
