About Una

Una

Una is a city and a municipal council that falls in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It shares its border with Kangra, Hamirpur, and Bilaspur districts and is known as ‘the Gateway to Himalayas’. According to local folklore, Una was named by Shri Guru Arjan Dev ji who was the fifth Guru of Sikhs. There is another school of thought too. ‘Una’ means ‘Unnati’ which means progress. Hence, ‘Una’ was coined keeping with the growth and progress of the town.

Air:

There are no direct flights to Una. The nearest airport is in Chandigarh which is 120 km away. 

Rail:

Una is well connected on all the major railway junctions.

Una is well connected by busses to Shimla, Chandigarh, and Pathankot. Once the road widening project on Mehatpur-Una-Amb finishes by 2014, the travel time will be considerably reduced. Gangada is a small village in the South Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Wildlife as well as beach enthusiasts are bound to love this area as the Easter Ghats as well as the Bay of Bengal coast are located close by.
