About Vallam


Vallam is a town in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The town is just 13 km to the south-west from Thanjavur, and hence it can be described as a suburb of Thanjavur. Located not too far from the Kollidam river, Vallam is known for its religious diversity and coexistence. Nature as well as spiritualists will find this place interesting.

Places of tourist interest are mostly located in Thanjavur. Some of the places worth exploring are Brihadisvara Temple and Fort, Sri Subramanya Shrine, Annai Vailankanni Shrine and the Thanjavur Royal Palace and Museum.

The nearest major airport is the Tiruchirapalli International Airport at a distance of 51 km.

Thanjavur Junction Railway Station is the nearest railway station at a distance of 11 km.
