About Virudhunagar

Virudhunagar

Known to be the district of Tamil Nadu, Virudhunagar was also called Virudhupatti in the beginning of 20th century. This town was the commercial centre during the years of British rule in India. It is also said that this district was earlier part of ramanathapuram district. It is located to the east of the Kowsika River.
